Ed Zimel: Bringing a Voice to the People
"I'm running for Village Trustee to make sure the people have a voice," comments Ed Zimel, "and, more importantly, that the needs of the residents do not fall on deaf ears."
Edward J. Zimel, Jr. born and raised in Schaumburg, has been a Hanover Park resident for over 13 years. As a licensed mortgage broker and financial advisor, Mr. Zimel brings nearly 20 years of monetary, banking, financial, and mortgage knowledge and experience to the Village Board.
"I am a double business owner, and I have decided to run my businesses and raise my family in Hanover Park," notes Ed. "Like all residents of Hanover Park, I have an investment in out town, because I care about it."
When asked about the most important people in his life, Ed says with a smile, "My wife, Melody, and our children, Eric and Rebecca, are my foundation along with the rest of my family. My extended family has been my walls and windows, helping me keep focused."
Ed's religious faith is also a guiding factor in his life. He is a member of St. Walter's Catholic Church in Roselle where he has taught Sunday School for 2nd and 5th graders.
It is from these roots that Ed draws his values. "The core values that will guide me as a Village Trustee are honesty, integrity, respect, compassion, trustworthiness. These are the values that should guide a village official," comments Ed.
"All residents are going to have different needs that our Village government may have to address," Ed states. "Sometimes we will be able to address these needs and sometimes we may not, but all residents have a basic need, and that is to be heard by their Village officials. They do not want to be ignored or pushed aside."
"I believe it is the time to make some changes within our Village government. It's time for more openness. It's time to ensure that the people of Hanover Park have a voice. It's time to ensure that they are heard and that needs are addressed."
